Pre and Post Natal
Movement and optimum health are paramount in the pre-and postnatal stages of pregnancy journey through each trimester to help you remain healthy, fit and confident in your body.
I consider it a privilege to work with anyone with this joyful part of your life and having two children myself know the demands on the body.
The body changes in each trimester throughout the pregnancy and different movement and strength exercises are implemented throughout each stage.
During pregnancy, the body undergoes enormous changes. Hormones release and stimulant physical changes in virtually every part of the body affecting the body systems and Mother’s mental state. This can have an influence on the health of the baby and having someone that can support you physically and emotionally throughout this can be of enormous benefit
Exercise does not interfere with foetal development and does not increase a woman's chances of going into premature labour.
While working with your pregnant body we will be looking at maintaining good posture, pelvic stability and awareness of the pelvic floor. In the postnatal period ideally, we would work after you've had your 6-week check with a health professional.
I have had the pleasure of running many postnatal classes where you can bring your baby with you. At the beginning of these classes I always perform “The Rec Check”check to see where you are abdominal muscles are and then we would work accordingly with your body.
If you have recently had a baby and have a post natal group you are in I am happy to organise a post natal class for you .
Minimum of 5 in a class and you can bring your baby with you .
“I started Pilates with Georgia after having my twin boys.
It took me a while to learn how to use muscles I didn't know existed but after a few months I started to get my pre-pregnancy body back. 15 years later I am still doing Pilates !! The classes are fun and varied, and are small enough for Georgia to tailor the exercises to everyone's abilities. This can make it hard work, but more effective. Thank you :-) ”
